A Tape Of Chris Farley As The Original Voice Of Shrek Finally Surfaces

Just like that a boring Wednesday night turns into the greatest night ever.  I thought about saving this blog for the morning but fuck it.  This is too important.  This is my internet Holy Grail.  Chris Farley originally reading lines for Shrek before he died.  Nobody was sure tapes even existed but we were all just waiting waiting waiting for the day they would see the light in case they did exist. Rumors about a Chris Farley-as-Shrek reel has been floating around forever.  Some might call it an urban legend.  Well, not anymore because it FINALLY leaked.  It’s real and it’s spectacular.  In all honesty, it just feels good to hear my old friend Chris again.  Sure, I can hear him in all the movies and YouTube clips but these are things we’ve never heard before.  And if no one else is going to say it I will.  Farley would’ve been a trillion times better than Mike Myers and Myers did a great job with Shrek.  Turned him into an all-time classic character.  But Farley was the original pick and would’ve been worlds better.  I knew it before I heard the tape.  Felt it in my bones and I’m even more confident now that I’ve heard it.  He was perfect for the role.  Big ol’ guy reading for a big ol’ ogre. Alas. We’ll never know how it would’ve gone but at least we have this.
